FRANZISKA BORER BLINDENBACHER
Franziska Borer Blindenbacher is an economist and works as an international consultant and lecturer in the fields of transport, spatial planning and the environment. Her clients are from the public and private sector, among them the Swiss Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications, the Swiss Association for Public Transportation, the Canadian Ministry of Transportation, the US Department of Transportation, the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy, etc.
Ms Borer Blindenbacher has extensive experience in crafting and implementing sustainable transportation policies on the local, national and international level. One focus of her work is on the social and external costs of transportation and the market pricing mechanisms to internalize them (e.g. Swiss Heavy Vehicle Fee). She is also an expert on urban transportation and environmental issues. She has been lecturing at the George Washington University in Washington DC and the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland.
